Our Love Story

If You Ask Katie:

From the moment I met Marcus, every corny cliché about “when you meet the one” immediately rang true. There was an ease between us, a sense of familiarity that felt both exciting and real.

On our first date, he was waiting outside the restaurant when I arrived. Later, I would learn that he’s the “if you’re not early, you’re late” type, which totally makes us the yin to each other’s yang. He was standing in a parallel parking spot directly in front of the restaurant, holding it for me. I passed him, then looked back and thought, That is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.

What if this man turns out to be my future husband?

After I parked and walked up to him, I apologized and admitted I couldn’t parallel park. We both laughed.

Dinner was effortless, and I can still remember every detail. It was going so well that we decided to go to the movies afterward. We chose Mean Girls, only to discover it was a musical. Afterward, we both agreed it was terrible, and somehow, that made the night even better.

It didn’t take me long to realize that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Loving him feels as natural as breathing.

From all of our firsts together to all the firsts still ahead of us, I am so beyond ready to become your wife.

If You Ask Marcus:

Our story began in the most modern of ways with two paths crossing through a chance connection, yet it quickly unfolded into something timeless. From the very beginning, Marcus was drawn to Katie's love of the outdoors and adventure: hiking trails, camping trips, and a curiosity for travel that mirrored his own. What started as a simple connection soon turned into an effortless connection.

Their first date was planned with a bit of flair, but true to form, they embraced spontaneity, swapping their original plans for dinner at Luna, followed by an evening at the theater for Mean Girls: The Musical. It didn't take long to realize that this was something special. Not long after, they found themselves back at Vic and Anthony's as originally intended, celebrating with great food, laughter, and later, dancing at Blue Martini.

As their relationship grew, so did a deeper understanding of what truly mattered. Marcus and Katie discovered they shared strong Christian values, aligned morals, and shared a vision for the future, one rooted in faith, family, and purpose. Together, they support one another's dreams, whether in the classroom or the operations field, always encouraging growth while building a life side by side.

What began as a simple introduction became a lasting partnership. One built on love, faith, adventure, and the joy of choosing each other every day.
